Sanitation Certification in Illinois |
Sanitation certification is required by the Illinois Department of Public Health Food Service Sanitation Code. This code requires all establishments and organizations that prepare and serve food shall be under operational supervision of a certified sanitation manager.
To meet the certification requirement, every business or establishment which serves food must have at least one individual who has completed the 15 hours of instruction from a licensed sanitation instructor and then successfully pass the Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification (FSSMC) Exam.
