Kathy Hennemann, Board Certified Nutrition Support Clinician
Kathy Hennemann always knew she wanted to be in the medical field to follow in her mother and grandmother’s footsteps. Her passion was apparent early on when she won a national American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences (AAFCS) student research award in college and presented her research at the national AAFCS conference in Washington, D.C.
According to the NCS team, Kathy is a valuable training resource for the team’s dietary managers, and she was instrumental in creating various company policies. In addition, she often gets positive comments from physicians and state surveyors on the quality of her documentation, which results in exceptional nutrition care for residents.
Dedicated to working closely with clients, Kathy has developed strong relationships across her large territory since 2013. “One of my favorite aspects of my job,” she stated, “is the joy of getting to know my nursing home residents, hearing their stories, and enjoying time with them.”
During the pandemic, Kathy achieved a new level of professional growth by becoming a Board Certified Nutrition Support Clinician. She used her knowledge to become NCS’s go-to clinician for all things related to enteral or parenteral nutrition. Her genuine team player attitude continues to be an asset to the team.
Kathy also proudly works as a dietetic internship preceptor. “I’m so proud of all my students. I love watching them grow in their confidence and learning something new from each intern.”
When she has 30-minutes of free time, she’s known to “pop in my headphones, listen to an audiobook or pick music to match my mood for the moment.”
Kathy also broke down some of her favorite interests outside of work:
Kitchen Hack: Be blessed with a talented spouse that cooks well.
Food to Eat: Chocolate chip cookies
Favorite Place to Visit: Outer Banks in North Carolina
Indoor/Outdoor Activity: Indoors getting creative and repurposing items and outdoors- gardening!
Favorite Quote: “Perhaps this is the moment for which you have been created.” Esther 4:14
The admiration for Kathy is mutual. “NCS cares about their employees and promotes balance, encourages time with family and self-care,” shared Kathy when asked about her favorite aspect of being an NCS team member.
At NCS, we recognize that our talented team makes a difference in the lives of our clients, and we are grateful to have Kathy Hennemann on our team!
