Training

Affordable training focused on your needs

With the daily responsibilities associated with caring for residents, it’s difficult to keep staff up-to-date on regulations, trends and practices in food service operations. By turning to our experts for training and customized in-service programs, you can be confident that your staff will have the knowledge they need to serve your residents’ needs effectively.

Food Handlers Certification

Effective July 1, 2016, all Illinois food handlers employed in nursing homes, licensed day care homes and facilities, hospitals, schools, and long-term care facilities must receive or obtain training in basic food handling principles.  Nutrition Care Systems offers both onsite Illinois food handler training for your staff from one of our highly skilled dietitians, as well as an online program which offers convenience and flexibility. Learn more here.

Sanitation Certification Classes

Ensure that your staff meets local and state requirements for preparing and serving food safely, so you can improve food quality, comply with F371, and minimize risks related to food-borne illness outbreaks. We teach the new 8 hour Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification (FSSMC) course required by The Illinois Department of Public Health. We are available to provide on site classes to groups with 10 or more students. Contact our office for pricing information and further details.

Certified Dietary Management

If you have dietary personnel who are interested in becoming Certified Dietary Managers, all of our dietitians are qualified to act as preceptors for long-distance learning programs focused on achieving certification.
